Development of the idea E-mail
The idea of erecting the Bible Valley as an international interfaith project
was conceived in 1999. As the end of the old millennium approached and
towards the dawn of the new one, Mallmedia Publishing House (which later
became project manager for the Bible Valley), introduced a global
competition “Children of the World Illustrate the Bible.”
Hundreds of thousands of children from 91 countries, Jews and Christians
participated in the competition. The widespread participation and enthusiasm
accompanying the competition and the high quality of the paintings
demonstrated the place of the Bible in the faith and awareness of millions
of people in scores of countries and cultures.
Among the prizes offered the children who created the most
outstanding paintings, the most popular was a certificate for
planting a tree in their honor in the Bible forest.
